By killing 19 and wounding 30 unarmed peaceful people on humanitarian mission in the civilian Gaza aid flotilla in the international waters, Israel drew worldwide condemnation and once again demonstrated its barbarity, cruelty, arrogance and lawlessness to the world and
The aid flotilla carrying 10,000 tons of medicine, food and other essential items was organized by Turkish Human Rights Agency and other pro Palestinian Groups who, deeply disturbed by the immense sufferings of 1.6 million starving Palestinians in Gaza under inhuman Israeli economic blockade imposed since June 2006 as punishment for excising their democratic rights to elect a government of their choice in a free and fair elections supervised by former US President Jimmy Carter.
The Israeli blockade turned Gaza into a vast open prison where the people were forced to suffer without basic necessities such as food, medicine and healthcare and there were reports of some eating grass. Their sufferings were ignored by the world.
Sri Lanka Committee for Solidarity with Palestine vehemently condemns this latest crime against humanity by Israel Middle East threatening the entire world. which remains the only source of instability and misery in Middle East threatening the entire world.
In its statement Nanda Kalutantri, SLCSP Secretary, said that this arrogance is only possible due to the unlimited support by US led west which created Israel in the robbed Palestinian land by means of terrorism, massacres, genocide, lies, deception and conspiracies. Thus the US and the West accusing small nations of war crimes and human rights violations, share responsibility for all Israeli crimes, injustices and decades of endless Palestinian sufferings

He pointed out that in a statement Robert Serry, UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process and Filippo Grandi, Commissioner- General of the UN Relief and Works Agency on 31 May 2010 expressed their shock and condemned the violence. They made it clear that such tragedies are entirely avoidable if Israel heeds the repeated calls of the international community to end its counterproductive and unacceptable blockade of Gaza.
This comes only nine months after the UN Fact-Finding Mission led by Justice Richard Goldstone accused Israel of committing war crimes in Gaza during its December 2009 January 2010 invasion of Gaza, stated Kaluntari in his statement.
