Terms of Reference – Public Relations OfficerMuslim Aid is an international relief and development agency working to alleviate the suffering among the world's poorest and most needy communities regardless of race, creed or nationality. Muslim Aid deploys long-term development projects on education, skills training, Islamic Microfinance to tackle the root causes of poverty.
Objectives
- Muslim Aid Sri Lanka Field Office wishes to recruit a dynamic, enthusiastic, innovative and dedicated candidate to respond quickly to changing circumstances, which can have a dramatic impact on the profile of the organization as well as to promote greater public awareness and understanding and support for Muslim Aid.
Nature of Work
- This will be a frontline role that makes a vital contribution to our public positioning.
- To build awareness of the work of the charity and its need for funds through focused and positive public relations.
- To promote Muslim Aid’s work to a wide range of audiences, and contribute to the development of a strong and coherent organisational identity.
· Manage and develop relationships with current and potential new corporate sponsors, supporters and other key stakeholders.
· Research and develop current and future income streams from trusts and corporate sponsorship
· Develop and maintain good public relation for future funding opportunities from international sources
Personal Skills
Essential Requirements:
• Degree level qualification preferably in Management / Marketing discipline.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills with ability to perform multi-task
• Innovative, dedicated and enthusiastic with a ‘can do’ attitude and positive outlook
• Ability to liaise with and influence others on all levels
• Ability to monitor, measure and report on progress

Desirable Requirements
• Knowledge and communication in Arabic Language
· 2-3 year experience within similar capacity
· Good research skills
· An understanding of trusts and other funding bodies
