Today's Hadith – Hasten with Janazah
The Prophet of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “Hasten with the Janazah, for if (the deceased) was righteous, it is something good to which you are sending him, and if he was otherwise, it is an evil which you are taking off of your necks (ridding yourselves).” [Sunan Abu Dawud]
In either case it is beneficial to not waste time in burying the dead. As stated by the Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) if the deceased is one of the people of Jannah then his/her grave will become one of the gardens of Jannah for him/her and that is something the deceased will enjoy. And if the deceased is one of the people of Jahannum then it is in your own interest to rid yourself of his/her evil as soon as you can.
