A BRIGHTER FUTURE FOR SRI LANKA 
We at Sailan Muslim Foundation congratulate His Excellency Maithripala Sirisena on his victory at this historic election as the President of the Democratic Republic of Sri Lanka. We wish him all success in his mission to take our beloved motherland on the path to peace and prosperity and to revive the cherished democratic values of our nation.
Our fervent desire is that all Sri Lankans, regardless of race or religion, caste or creed, give him all the support he needs in his noble mission to take the country forward. There is much that needs to be done to return to the traditions of our nation’s founding fathers, to return to the rule of law, respect for our democratic traditions and recognizing the due rights of minority communities.
We wish our President all the best and earnestly look forward to joining him in the march towards our common destiny as Sri Lankans. In this connection we cannot but recall the beautiful lines penned by Reverend Walter Stanley Senior in his soul-stirring epic The Call of Lanka:
But most shall he sing of Lanka
In the bright new days that come
When the races all have blended
And the voice of strife is dumb
When we leap to a single bugle
March to a single drum
